Candidatures are accepted from January 1st to 31st, and from August 1st to 31st. Only three candidatures (one for each research section) can be approved for each call. Students can apply for only one position for each academic year, and for only one PoliMI supervisor.

Procedure after acceptance

1. The student will receive an invitation letter on letterhead, signed by the Director of the Department, and he/she will be invited to send to the relevant office:
- the scholarship/sponsorship letter, that confirms the commitment of third sponsor body to provide financial resources for carrying out the project (scholarship has to cover the living expenses including accommodation, airfare tickets, mandatory insurances -health, accident, liability-);
- a copy of the master degree diploma officially certified and translated to Italian and certified by the Italian Embassy / Consulate of reference;
- the Declaration of Value issued by the Italian Embassy / Consulate of reference.
2. Once received the documents the Visiting Office of the Department will prepare the Hosting Agreement to be approved by the Department Board in the first available meeting.
The Agreement will have to be signed by the Visiting PhD student and by the Director of the Department.
3. Afterward, the Host office of Politecnico di Milano will manage the request of authorization (Nulla Osta) to the Prefecture and the procedure for the Entry Visa.

Once received the documents specified at point 1, the whole procedure will take around 4 months to be completed. The Politecnico di Milano shall not be responsible for delays due to the issuing of the Nulla Osta and of the Entry visa.
